France Tourist Visa (Sticker Visa) Requirements
Traveler Details
Passport
- Physical Passport required.
- Passport should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure from France.
- Handwritten passports and those valid for more than 10 years are not accepted.
- The passport must have at least 2 blank pages for the visa stamp.
- Old passports must also be submitted, if applicable.
Photographs
- Physical photographs required.
- Dimensions: 35mm x 45mm with a matte finish on white background.
- Face coverage: 80% of the face, non-smiling, without glasses or head covering (unless for religious or ethnic reasons).
- The photo must not have been used for previous visa applications.
Travel Details
Flight Tickets
- A copy of confirmed arrival and departure tickets.
Hotel Reservation
- A copy of the confirmed hotel reservation showing:
- Hotel address,
- Contact number,
- Applicant’s name,
- Dates of reservation for the entire stay.
Financial Details
Bank Statement
- Physical bank statement required.
- If the applicant is sponsored, provide the sponsor’s bank statement, or if the applicant is self-sponsored, provide their own.
- The bank statement must be from the last 6 months, with the bank’s sign and seal.
Income Tax Return (ITR)
- If the applicant is a partner, director, or LLP member, submit business ITR for the last 3 years.
- If employed, submit Form 16 and ITR for the last 3 years.
- If self-employed, submit personal ITR for the last 3 years.
Occupation Details
For Employed Individuals
- Leave sanction letter or No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer for the travel duration.
- Payslips for the last 3 months or a salary certificate from the employer.
For Self-Employed Individuals
- Cover letter on the business letterhead.
- Business registration certificate: can include any of GST certificate, Certificate of Incorporation, Partnership deed, or MOA.
- Valid proprietorship proof.
For Students
- A letter from the Institute with the student’s name, such as:
- Bonafide certificate,
- Leave letter,
- Student ID card copy.
For Retired Individuals
- Retirement proof or pension slip for the last 3 months.
Additional Requirements
Biometric Data
- Applicants must visit the visa application center in person to submit biometric data (fingerprints and photograph).
- Biometrics are valid for 59 months, so applicants will not need to repeat biometrics within this period.
Travel Insurance
- Mandatory travel insurance with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000 or USD 50,000 for health emergencies, treatment, hospitalization, or repatriation.
- Insurance must cover all Schengen countries and be valid for the entire stay in France.
Cover Letter
- A cover letter explaining the purpose of travel, addressing the consulate or embassy (based on jurisdiction).
Applications Timing
- Applications should be submitted at least 15 working days before travel.
- Applications submitted within 15 working days of the travel date will not be accepted.
Conditional Requirements
For Minors Traveling with One Parent
- Written consent from the other parent or guardian.
- Signed copies of the non-traveling parent or guardian’s passport or photo ID.
- If the parent has sole custody, proof of custody or guardianship must be provided.
- Minors must sign the application form in front of a VFS officer.
For Minors Traveling Alone
- Written consent from both parents or legal guardians.
- Signed copies of the passports or photo IDs of both parents/guardians.
- NOC from the parents if applicable.
- Minors must be accompanied by both parents or legal guardians and sign the application form in front of a VFS officer.
Staying with Friends or Family
- An invitation letter in French, issued and endorsed by the France Office of Immigration and Nationality or certified by a public notary.
- Passport and visa or residence permit of the inviter along with address proof.
Sponsor Documents
- Sponsorship letter from the sponsor, detailing the applicant’s travel particulars.
- Employment proof of the sponsor.
- Bank statement of the sponsor.
- Government ID proof (passport, driving license, PAN card) of the sponsor, if the sponsor is from India. If the sponsor is from France, provide a passport or driving license copy.
Internal Travel
- If the applicant will be traveling internally within the Schengen Area, provide proof of internal travel.
Marriage Certificate
- If applicable, the marriage certificate should be provided if the spouse’s name is not mentioned in the passport.
Important Notes
- All documents must be in English or French; if documents are in another language, an official translation is required.
- The embassy or consulate may request additional documents or a personal interview on a case-by-case basis.
