Germany (Sticker Visa) – Detailed Requirements and Guidelines

Mandatory Details

Passport

• Physical passport required.
• Passport should be valid for at least six months from the date of departure from Germany.
• Handwritten passports or passports older than ten years are not accepted.
• Passports must have at least two blank pages for visa affixing.
• Passports with observations on the front data page are not accepted.

Photograph

• Physical photo required.
• Dimensions: 35mm x 45mm on matte finish paper with a white background.
• Face should cover 80%, with a neutral expression (non-smiling), without glasses or head covering (unless for religious or ethnic reasons).
• Photograph must be recent (within six months) and not previously used in any visa application.

Travel Details

Flight Tickets

• Copy of confirmed arrival and departure tickets is required.

Itinerary

• A day-to-day travel itinerary must be provided.

Hotel Reservation

• Confirmed hotel reservation showing the address, contact number, applicant’s name, and dates of stay.
• If traveling to multiple Schengen countries, proof of accommodation is needed for each destination.

Financial Details

Bank Statement

• Physical bank statement for the last three months, stamped and signed by the bank.
• Either the applicant’s or the sponsor’s bank statement if sponsored by a blood relative or spouse.

Income Tax Returns (ITR)

• For employed individuals, two years of personal ITR or Form 16.
• For self-employed individuals, two years of personal ITR.
• For proprietors, three years of business ITR.
• If sponsored by an Indian company, provide the company’s last three years’ ITR acknowledgment.

Occupation Details

Employed

• Letter from employer on company letterhead, detailing applicant’s name, designation, and authorization signature.
• Leave Sanction Letter or No Objection Certificate (NOC).
• Last three months’ payslips.
• Company appointment letter if the applicant recently joined the company.

Self-Employed

• Cover letter on business letterhead.
• Business registration certificate (GST certificate, Certificate of Incorporation, Partnership deed, or MOA).
• Valid proof of proprietorship.

Student

• Bonafide certificate, leave letter from the educational institution, or a copy of the student ID card.

Retired

• Proof of retirement or pension slip for the last three months.

Additional Requirements

Biometric Data

• Applicants must visit the visa application center in person for biometric data unless they have a Schengen visa issued within the last three years.

Travel Insurance

• Mandatory travel insurance with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000 or USD 50,000 for medical emergencies, hospitalization, or repatriation.
• Insurance must cover all Schengen countries and be valid for the entire stay.

Cover Letter

• A cover letter stating the purpose of visit and personal details, addressed to the appropriate consulate or embassy.

Travel Agency Certificate

• Signed and stamped by an authorized travel agency representative if applicable.

Conditional Requirements

Minors Traveling with One Parent

• Written consent from the non-traveling parent or guardian, with a signed copy of their passport or ID.
• If the traveling parent has sole custody or guardianship, proof is required.
• All minors must sign the application form in front of a VFS officer unless visiting a parent residing in Germany.

Minors Traveling Alone

• Written consent from both parents or legal guardians.
• Signed copies of both parents’ or guardians’ passports or photo IDs.
• Notarized NOC from parents if applicable.

Staying with Friends or Family

• Original invitation letter (townhall letter) in German, including traveler’s name, passport number, purpose and duration of trip, and itinerary.
• Proof of inviter’s passport and visa or residence permit, along with address.

Sponsor Documents

• Sponsorship letter, employment proof of the sponsor, and sponsor’s bank statement.
• ID proof (passport, driving license) of the sponsor if in India; if in Germany, a copy of the passport or driving license.

Internal Travel in Schengen

• Internal transportation tickets or proof of internal travel if visiting other Schengen countries.

Marriage Certificate
