South Africa Sticker Visa: Detailed Requirements

Traveller Details

• Passport
  • Physical passport required, valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure from South Africa with at least 2 blank pages.
  • Any old passport(s) must also be submitted.
  • Handwritten passports and passports with a validity exceeding 10 years are not accepted.
• Photographs
  • Physical copies of 2 recent photos, sized 35 mm x 45 mm, with 80% facial coverage against a plain white background with matte finish.
  • Photos must be taken within the last 3 months.

Travel Details

• Flight Tickets
  • Copies of confirmed arrival and departure tickets are required.
• Hotel Reservation
  • Confirmed hotel reservation showing the hotel’s address, contact number, applicant’s name, and reservation dates for all days of travel.
• Daily Itinerary
  • A detailed day-by-day travel plan for the applicant’s stay in South Africa (mandatory for applications from the Delhi jurisdiction).

Financial Details

• Bank Statement
  • A physical bank statement from the applicant or their sponsor (if sponsored by a blood relative or spouse).
  • The sponsor’s statement must cover the last 3 months, showing sufficient funds (approximately INR 80,000 per applicant) and be signed and sealed by the bank in English.

Occupation Details

• Employed
  • A Leave Sanction letter on company letterhead is required.
  • Additionally, one of the following must be submitted on company letterhead with the applicant’s name, designation, and authorized signature:
    • No Objection Certificate (NOC)
    • Recent appointment letter (if the applicant recently joined the company)
    • Payslips from the last 3 months.
• Self-employed
  • A Cover Letter on business letterhead.
  • Notarized business registration certificate such as GST certificate, Certificate of Incorporation, Partnership deed, or Memorandum of Association (MOA).
  • Valid proof of proprietorship.
• Student
  • One of the following documents from the educational institute:
    • Bonafide certificate
    • Leave letter from the educational institution
    • Student ID card copy.
• Retired
  • Proof of retirement or a pension slip from the last 3 months.

Conditional Requirements

• Rental Agreement
  • A notarized rental agreement on a 100/- stamp paper or an online rental agreement is required if the passport was issued outside the visa application jurisdiction.
  • Jurisdictions:
    • Mumbai: Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Goa, Telangana, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh.
    • New Delhi: All other states.
• Sponsor Documents
  • Sponsorship letter stating the applicant’s details and trip particulars.
  • Employment proof and a bank statement of the sponsor.
  • Government ID proof (passport, driving license, PAN card) if the sponsor is from India, or passport/driving license copy if the sponsor is from South Africa.
• Staying with Friends or Family
  • An invitation letter attested by the Commission of Oaths in South Africa, mentioning the invitee’s name/passport number, duration, and purpose of stay.
  • The inviting person’s ID/passport, attested by the Commission of Oaths in South Africa.
  • Inviting person’s permanent address and contact number.
• Marriage Certificate
  • Notarized marriage certificate required if the spouse’s name is not mentioned on the passport and one spouse is sponsoring the other.
• Minor Applicants
  • Applicants below 18 years must submit a notarized birth certificate.

Mandatory Details

• Special Requirements
  • All documents must be in English; if any document is in another language, an official English translation is required.
  • The Embassy or Consulate may request additional documents or a personal interview with the applicant on a case-by-case basis.
