Switzerland Sticker Visa Application Guide
1. Basic Passport Requirements
- Original Passport: Valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure from Switzerland. Passport should include at least 2 blank pages and be issued within the last 10 years.
- Acceptable Format: Handwritten, observed, or passports older than 10 years are not accepted.
- Previous Passports: Original previous passports must be provided if applicable.
2. Photograph Requirements
- Quantity: 2 recent passport-sized photos with a white background, matte finish.
- Size: 35mm x 45mm with 80% face coverage, non-smiling, without glasses or head coverings unless for religious reasons.
- Condition: Photos must be taken within the last 3 months and not previously used in a visa.
3. Travel Details
- Return Air Tickets: Confirmed arrival and departure tickets. Include internal tickets if traveling within other Schengen states.
- Hotel Reservation: Must include hotel address, contact number, applicant’s name, and dates of reservation for all travel days. Confirmed booking is necessary, especially if traveling independently.
4. Financial Requirements
- Bank Statement: Latest personal bank statement for the last 6 months with a bank seal. This is required to prove financial stability for the trip.
- If the trip is sponsored by a blood relative or spouse, a sponsor’s bank statement is also required.
- Minimum balance should be sufficient to cover the trip costs (approximately 3 lakh INR per person).
- Income Tax Returns (ITR):
- For self-employed individuals, submit personal ITR for the past three years.
- Employed individuals should submit Form 16 or ITR of the past three years.
- Other Investments: Provide details of any fixed deposits, property investments, etc., as proof of financial stability.
5. Travel Insurance
- Coverage: Mandatory insurance with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000 or USD 50,000 for health emergencies, hospitalization, or repatriation. Insurance must cover all Schengen countries and be valid for the entire trip.
6. Employment-Specific Documents
- Self-Employed/Business Owners:
- Proof of relationship with the company, such as MOA (if director), partnership deed, or proprietorship certificate.
- Business registration certificate (e.g., GST certificate, Incorporation Certificate).
- Latest bank statement and ITR of the company for the last 3 years.
- Employed/Service Personnel:
- No Objection Certificate (NOC) from employer stating approval for travel duration.
- Salary slips for the past 3 months and a salary certificate.
- Appointment letter if recently joined.
- Students:
- Leave sanction letter or bonafide certificate from the school/institution.
- School/institute ID card copy.
- Letter from school if it’s closed during the intended travel period.
- Retired Applicants:
- Provide retirement proof or pension slips for the last 3 months.
7. Cover Letter
- State purpose of travel, applicant’s details, and be addressed to the respective Swiss consulate or embassy.
8. Additional Documents for Special Cases
- Minors:
- If traveling with only one parent, provide a notarized consent letter from the non-traveling parent.
- If traveling alone, both parents/guardians must provide written consent.
- Minors must be accompanied by both parents/legal guardians to the VFS center to sign in person, except when visiting the other parent residing in Switzerland.
- Spouse/Marriage Proof:
- Marriage certificate is required if the spouse’s name is not mentioned on the passport.
- Internal Schengen Travel:
- Provide internal commute proof (e.g., bus/train/flight tickets) if traveling to other Schengen states.
9. Sponsor/Invitation Requirements
- Staying with Friends/Family:
- Original invitation letter from the inviting party, endorsed by the Switzerland Office of Immigration and Nationality or certified by a public notary.
- Inviter’s passport, visa or residence permit copy, and address proof in Switzerland.
- Trip Sponsored by Someone in Switzerland:
- Sponsorship letter detailing applicant’s details and trip purpose.
- Proof of employment of the sponsor, along with their bank statement and valid ID (passport, driving license).
- If sponsor is a Swiss resident, provide proof of relationship (e.g., sponsorship form INZ 1025).
10. Conditional and Miscellaneous Requirements
- Travel Agency Certificate:
- If applying through an agency, provide a stamped and signed certificate by the agency or individual itinerary with accommodation reservation proof.
- Embassy or Consulate Discretion:
- Additional documents or a personal interview may be requested based on the embassy’s discretion.
- Application Timeline:
- Submit applications at least 15 working days before travel; applications submitted within 15 days are generally not accepted.
